Yes. In the Android app, inspectors keep working, record their reports and take photos without a network, and everything syncs automatically as soon as they are back online. A few features, such as voice dictation or nameplate scanning, still need a connection. Essential on construction sites, industrial sites and areas with no 4G.
Lifting periodic inspection covers appliances used for lifting and handling: overhead cranes, gantry cranes, cranes, forklifts, aerial work platforms, tail lifts, as well as all lifting accessories (slings, hooks, spreader beams, straps). Regulatory frequencies range from 3 to 12 months depending on the type of appliance and its use. Octav manages these specific frequencies by equipment family.
Periodic inspection is annual for permanently installed appliances (overhead cranes, gantry cranes, tower cranes assembled from components) and for all lifting accessories (slings, hooks, spreader beams). It is six-monthly for mobile or relocatable appliances — forklifts, aerial work platforms, mobile cranes, loader cranes, self-erecting cranes, tail lifts — and for powered appliances that carry people or raise a work station; it is every three months for hand-operated appliances that raise a work station (French order of 1 March 2004, articles 23 and 24). Octav shows your upcoming deadlines and, if you turn it on, can email you a summary of the equipment coming due.
