The inspection software for playgrounds

Octav helps inspection companies, municipalities and operators schedule public playground inspections, track every item of equipment and every impact-attenuating surface, and produce clear reports. One platform for the field, the log and the client relationship.

Why Octav

A solution designed for public playgrounds

A playground is inspected at three different rhythms: routine visual inspection, operational inspection and annual main inspection. Octav centralizes sites, play units, impact-attenuating surfaces, observations, photos and the maintenance log in a single tool, built for the field as much as for the back office.

01

Never lose track of inspection frequencies

Routine, operational, annual main inspection: three different rhythms across dozens of playgrounds is exactly what a spreadsheet lets slip. Octav computes the next due dates playground by playground and alerts you before they are missed.

02

Prove that every non-conformity was closed

A photo observation, a severity level, a corrective action, an after-the-fact photo: the full chain stays attached to the equipment concerned and flows into the report.

03

Keep a log you can produce at any moment

The maintenance and upkeep log of each playground is built from the jobs actually carried out. No more reconstructing it by hand before an audit or a review meeting.

Industry features

Octav features for playgrounds

Octav helps you prepare inspection rounds, track every play unit and its safety surface, record non-conformities and produce reports your municipality can actually read.

Complete playground inventory

Every play unit, every impact-attenuating surface and every piece of equipment has its own record, photos, manual and inspection history.

Three inspection levels

Schedule routine visual inspections, operational inspections and the annual main inspection, each with its own frequency per playground.

Time-stamped photo observations

Photograph wear, a missing part or a degraded surface, rate its severity and track the non-conformity through to closure.

Automatic maintenance log

The maintenance and upkeep log fills itself as jobs are completed, ready to be shown or exported at any time.

Offline field mode

Inspect a playground at a school, a campsite or a park with no network: data syncs as soon as you are back online.

Client portal for the municipality

Technical departments, social landlords and operators consult reports, photos and corrective actions in a dedicated space.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about playground inspection software

Playground inspection software should manage the inventory of equipment and impact-attenuating surfaces, the three levels of inspection, photo observations, corrective actions and the maintenance log. Octav brings these use cases together in a single web and mobile platform, with an offline mode for the field.

French regulations — decrees no. 94-699 of 10 August 1994 and no. 96-1136 of 18 December 1996 — require the operator to maintain a maintenance and upkeep plan. Practice, aligned with the NF EN 1176 and NF EN 1177 standards, distinguishes the routine visual inspection, the operational inspection (typically every 1 to 3 months) and the annual main inspection. Octav schedules these three frequencies per playground and per item of equipment.

Yes. Every job, observation and corrective action automatically feeds the log of the playground concerned. It stays available online and can be exported as a PDF for the municipality, the landlord or the operator.

Yes. Impact-attenuating surfaces (sand, wood chips, tiles, wet-pour) are tracked as equipment in their own right: type of surface, associated free height of fall, measured depth and observations all stay attached to the inspected zone.

Both use cases are covered. An inspection company manages its rounds, its clients and its reports across multiple municipalities; a municipality or an operator tracks its own playgrounds, its internal inspections and its contractors, with a client portal to share documents.

A QR code or an NFC tag placed on the equipment opens its record directly: manual, installation date, inspection history, open observations and latest reports. The person on site gets the information without digging through a binder.
